Hi, I’m Tee Green, The Mentorship Coach. I am the author of upcoming book, Transformative Mentorship (Spring 2025), exploring the new philosophies changing the paradigm of the mentorship ecosystem and the innovative associated approaches that will usher in the new era of mentorship to the world.

The Mentorship Coach exists to help leaders and groups communicate their message to the people they want or need to succeed by utilizing the tools they already possess.  I also provide individuals, through one-on-one mentorship coaching, the tools to successfully mentor and guide the people they care about the most. I’m an entrepreneur, speaker, consultant, and trainer who’s spoken at single events of over 10,000 people and shared the stage with and given speeches to international superstars, senior military leaders, professional athletes, and NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) leaders.

I coach leaders, executives, and organizations on how to utilize mentoring for leadership development and improving both individual and organizational decision-making at every level to meet strategic goals. I also provide individuals, through one-on-one mentor coaching, the tools to successfully mentor and guide the people they care about the most, family and friends. My Mentoring Philosophy is the foundation for how I help others succeed.

I also coach these same individuals from all walks of life and careers on how to be a great mentee and how to utilize the guidance they receive from their mentors in order maximize the benefits to their careers and their personal lives.

Third from the youngest of 6 sisters and 5 brothers, I was born in Charleston, SC and raised by a strong mother, who overcame all the challenges imaginable and utilized love to make poverty feel like wealth. My mother led a household of 11 children at one time. While not all her biological kids, she treated, mentored, and raised as her own in extremely undersized homes, becoming one of the most beloved people in the community. Growing up around drugs and murder, I saw my father miraculously overcome post-Vietnam personal challenges, to become a mentor not only to other Vietnam veterans struggling with severe personal challenges, but also to many others in the community, becoming one of the most respected people in the community.

Although my parents were separated before I turned 5 years old, the true blessing is going home to S.C. and having individuals come up to me and separately refer to my parents as the best people they’ve ever known.

As a youth, I had teachers who didn’t believe in me, to include one high school Spanish teacher flat-out telling me that I would never amount to anything.

After graduating from The Citadel and receiving a commission into the military, I had the honor of serving my country for 9 years while also serving as a member of the US military Special Operations community and receiving the Bronze Star for my actions in Afghanistan, before being medically retired as a Major from injuries sustained in Afghanistan.

None of those blessings would have been available nor would I have been prepared for them, had it not been for the great mentoring I received throughout my life. Mentoring is the reason for any and everything I’ve achieved.

From the aforementioned blessings to the blessings of being a successful entrepreneur, what matters the most to me are my two GREATEST blessing, my two amazing sons.

HOW I FOUND MY PASSION OF COACHING MENTORS:

A few of years ago, I was bestowed one of the greatest honors one could imagine. I was recognized and awarded as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans (TOYA). This short list of awardees includes John F. Kennedy (1946), Bill Clinton (1979), Elvis Presley (1970), Dick Cheney (1976), Arthur Ashe, Wayne Newton (1977), Kurt Warner (2010), Howard Hughes, Orson Welles, Gale Sayers (1969), Michele Tafoya (2001), Nelson Rockefeller, Christopher Reeves, and John Cena to name a few. As one of the highest awards and American civilian can receive, the awardees of this national prestigious award are identified as America’s rising stars in the fields of politics, science, entertainment, sports, military service, business and human improvement. Awarded as an American rising star in business and the model human improvement, I humbly joined the very exclusive short list of historically influential people whom since 1938 has been recognized as young men and women who are truly dedicated to creating a better nation, the world around them, and who embody the TOYA motto: “Service to Humanity is the Best Work of Life”.

Prior to the TOYA event, I was asked to provide a quote that defined “why I am where I am today” for the media leading up to the event. After searching vigorously, I found nothing that spoke to mentoring while embodying what mentoring had helped me accomplish, so it forced me to come up with my own to give them. What I came up with is now the first of my mentorship related quotes:

“Show me anyone who has accomplished one thing by themselves, and I’ll show you someone who’s never accomplished anything.”

After my speech, I was able to meet new fans and just talk to them. The feedback I received about my speech and its impact on their current personal and professional lives affected me. When people tell you that you give them hope, it changes you. Well, it should change you.  It makes you ask yourself, “Why don’t I do this more?”  After receiving such an honor and delivering my speech from the same platform as the aforementioned historical figures that stood there before me, I felt compelled to share my message that good mentoring has afforded me, but to share all of those lessons with you. I’m the father of two amazing young men and in my “free time”, I enjoy what I call my 3 Gs (Gym, Grilling, and Gardening). I can’t count fishing as a hobby because it’s more of an obsession.
